Narrative Summary - October 2005

The average temperature for October 2005 was above normal, averaging 54.4ºF, 1.4º above normal (53.0ºF).
The warmest October (1988) averaged 59.6ºF; while the coolest (1984) averaged 47.9ºF. No daily temperature
records were established in October 2005.



Precipitation for October 2005 totaled 0.29 inch, 59% of normal (0.49 inch). The wettest October (1957)
received 2.72 inches; and the driest (1987 and earlier years) received only a trace. Total precipitation for 2005
(through October) is 3.49 inches, 71% of normal (4.89 inches).

The average wind speed for October 2005 was 6.0 miles per hour (mph), which was 0.5 mph below normal (6.5mph).
The windiest October on record (1946) averaged 9.1 mph, while the October with the lightest winds
